Healthcare professionals who come from outside the UK make up a significant proportion of NHS staff. This is something to be celebrated and is one of the reasons that working in the NHS is so dynamic and engaging.
The transition from one culture to another be it organisational or linguistic is challenging. It is also rewarding and often fascinating. We believe that sharing the experience of this transition is worthwhile and may help all of us improve our professional practice.
