This is a course for staff new to St George’s and the NHS who are working critical care and anaesthesia. The idea is to lean about the challenges we all have starting to work in a different place and, perhaps, in a different culture and language. There is an opportunity to learn in small groups from others going through a similar experience as well as from others who have been through it in the past. We will use the format of workshops and short simulations and will have experts from education and the GMC as part of the faculty.
The course is designed to be inter-professional and to encourage those involved to share their experiences. It is the first part of an on-going process of reflective and interactive activities which will help us better understand the complexities of team-working in NHS acute care.
