Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) & Advanced Trauma Nursing Course (ATNC)

ATLS® is a multidisciplinary course enabling a standardised language of trauma care across the specialties. The aim of The ATLS® is to teach a simple systematic approach to the management of trauma patients through interactive tutorials, skills teaching and simulated patient management scenarios.

Attendance at the course also exposes the candidate to a network of motivated colleagues with an enthusiasm for trauma management. The ATLS® course was developed by the American College of Surgeons and has now been adopted in over 60 countries worldwide.

The GAPS department also runs an Advanced Trauma Nursing Course that runs along side the ATLS courses during specific times of the year.

Online pre-course work and certifications are coordinated with and through The Royal College of Surgeons (RCS – https://www.rcseng.ac.uk/) for both ATLS & ATNC.

If you have already applied places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Other applicants will be held on a waiting list in case those with confirmed places withdraw. Please note, if you are on a waiting list this does not guarantee entrance to this course and the waiting list is only for this date. Re-application is required for future dates.
