Consolidation of Skills in High Fidelity Simulation

Main Learning Objectives

  • Consolidation of technical and non-technical skills to assess and manage patient`s care
  • Consolidation of clinical assessment , recognition and management of deteriorating adult patients by using the A-E systematic approach assessment (Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability and Exposure)
  • Monitor patient`s NEWS (vital signs), pain assessment, ECG, CRT (capillary refill time), Blood glucose monitor, urine output and fluid intake
  • Correct NEWS scoring and escalate care appropriately using SBAR tool (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation)
  • Discuss Case studies : sepsis, shocks (anaphylaxis, hypovolumia, haemorrhagic, cardiogenic), Myocardial Infarction
  • Discuss diagnostics and medicines management
  • Follow holistic approach assessment (pressure ulcer, infections, social history and discharge planning)
  • Non-technical  skills – communication, decision-making, prioritisation, clinical reasoning/ thinking, delegation, situation awareness, leaderships skills, team-working, briefing and debriefing, giving constructive feedback, etc
